I have a dog with a thyroid issue and researched, he's on the prescription meds, but found this was a supplement for the thyroid and other glands. I put him and everyone else on it, about 8 months now, and he is doing great! I like adding natural supplements with the vet prescriptions. They want you to buy their products anyhow, and the costs are far less here and the product wonderful. These products come from the dog show world, which I trust and are compounded to do the job without the vet suggested prices!
Biotin is often used to help promote strong healthy coats.
Biotin is essential in fat and protein metabolism, thyroid and adrenal gland function, and maintenance of the diabetic animal.
Biotin is destroyed in any cooked or processed foods. Less than 1/2 of biotin is bio-available in foods. Our biotin is d-biotin, the biologically active form that occurs in nature. More concentrated than in other brands.
Ingredients: Ground Rice Hills, Calcium Carbonate, Wheat Middlings, d-Biotin 240
Suggested Usage: For General Canine Use, feed at the rate of ¼ teaspoon twice per day to provide 5.25 mg of d-Biotin per dog per day.
My 2 year old Smooth Collie blew his coat 2 weeks before a show and my breeder gave me some Bitotin to try. He was not coated up by the show date, and I didn't expect him to be, BUT his undercoat was already coming in! I've tried other "trade secrets" for helping to coat up dogs, this is pretty impressive!
